At 6med, we’re 100% committed to our goal of widening access to Medicine by levelling the playing field that’s been warped by corporations charging extortionate fees for their courses, and by “elite” schools giving their students help that others couldn’t even dream of.
In 2015, we gave out over £13,000 in bursaries for our courses and resources.
We don’t want money to be a barrier to entry into Medicine, and while we’ve priced our courses significantly lower than our competitors, we understand that the price might still be too high for some students (blame VAT and Corporation Tax for that). That’s why we’re offering an unlimited number of bursaries (full and partial) to students for whom entry into Medicine is a realistic prospect but who, for whatever reason, would find it difficult to attend our courses on financial grounds.
How to Apply
If you’re a realistic medical/veterinary applicant and feel you can’t afford the price we’re asking, please send an email to email@example.com with answers to the following questions. Your application will be judged almost entirely on the effort you put into it.
- What is your name, which school do you go to, and what is your academic record to date (GCSE results for the majority of applicants)?
- Which universities will you be applying to, and for what subject?
- How much money off the price of the course would you like? Obviously the higher this number is, the more carefully we’re going to be reviewing your application. Also, please don’t say something like ‘I’ll take whatever I can get’ – give us a number 🙂
- Why would this bursary benefit you?
- Are you in receipt of an EMA, a school bursary or some other Government support? If so, please provide documentation/information supporting this. If not, please explain your circumstances in any other way you like.
If you can provide us with a letter of recommendation from your school, that would be very ideal, but we won’t insist on it. We do try and accommodate as many (legitimate) requests for financial support as we possibly can, and if you’d like to talk to us about this (or anything else) in more detail, feel free to email us or give us a ring.
